Level Crossing Removal Project

Level Crossing Removal Project

The Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) was established by the Victorian Government to oversee one of the largest rail infrastructure projects in the state’s history.

LXRP is part of the Major Transport Infrastructure Authority and their projects fall under Victoria’s Big Build.

Central to the project is the elimination of 75 level crossings across metropolitan Melbourne by 2025, in addition to other rail network upgrades such as new train stations, track duplication and train stabling yards.

LXRP projects strive to improve the accessibility, amenity and functionality of the area around them to leave a positive legacy for years to come. Keeping communities informed about construction
and consulted on potential opportunities is vital for the delivery of the Level Crossing Removal Project. There are many ways LXRP keep communities informed and involved, including newsletters, advertising, signage, community information sessions and social media.
