Anne-Marie’s approach as a HSR has been highly constructive in that she listens and engages extremely well with caregivers, she understands the importance of managing risks and is pragmatic when it comes to resolving issues.

In her role Anne-Marie has advocated for a safer way to transfer patients between the Restorative Unit and SKG Radiology, which involved moving patients on a trolley between buildings outside and over rough pavements, causing uncomfortable jolting and jarring to patients.

This led to several changes being made in the hospital, including a new gel mattress being purchased for the transfer trolley, expansion joints being filled to improve comfort for patients and a trial of a new automated trolley to improve manual handling for caregivers undertaking the patient transfers.
